L’ecommerce international : un réservoir de croissance pour les années à venir
Une étude souligne le retard, et le potentiel de croissance pour les sites français.
L’internationalisation du e-commerce est un phénomène majeur, qui va perdurer dans les années à venir. Le ecommerce à l’échelle internationale devrait être multiplié par cinq au cours des sept prochaines années, passant de 25 milliards de $ en 2013 à 130 milliards USD en 2020 , selon une nouvelle étude réalisée par OC & C Strategy Consultants en collaboration avec Google. Cette étude a porté sur les 1400 principaux sites ecommerce de 6 pays ou zones de pays représentant 50% du e-commerce mondial : Allemagne, Etats-Unis, France, Pays-Bas, Royaume-Uni, Scandinavie.
Au niveau mondial, l’étude montre que les sites de vente en ligne ont tendance à s’internationaliser de plus en plus, avec 42% des visites en provenance de l’étranger. Selon cette étude, le Royaume-Uni est le premier exportateur mondial de biens achetés en ligne, avec un excédent commercial de plus de 1 milliard de $ en 2013. Les États-Unis et l’Allemagne sont les challengers les plus proches avec respectivement 180 et 35 millions de $ respectivement. La balance « e-commerciale » française est pour sa part largement déficitaire d’environ 700 M€.
Avec près de 31% de requêtes en provenance de l’étranger, les sites ecommerce français ont une fréquentation encore très locale, et ils sont en retard sur les sites étrangers. Contrairement aux sites britanniques largement plus globalisés, les sites français concentrent deux tiers de leur trafic international à partir des pays frontaliers (Espagne, Italie, Belgique). En Allemagne ou aux USA, l’étude montre que les clientèles intérieures et internationales arrivent quasiment à égalité.
Les sites français obtiennent de bons résultats sur leur marché domestique, et es sites les plus recherchés par les consommateurs français sont des pure players ou VADistes locaux (Cdiscount, Vente-privée, La Redoute) et des enseignes multicanal (Fnac, Leroy Merlin, Darty). Seule exception, le suédois Ikea qui figure dans le Top 10 français. Hors de l’Hexagone, les pure players français suscitent moins d’intérêt : 15% des recherches, contrairement aux enseignes multicanal (55%). Plusieurs enseignes spécialisées françaises figurent parmi les champions des requêtes internationales : Sephora, Decathlon, L’occitane et Leroy Merlin sont dans le top 15 des distributeurs multicanaux. La bonne image internationale des marques de luxe françaises se confirme elle aussi, avec 4 marques dans le top 15 des enseignes internationales : Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Lacoste, et YSL
Pour réussir à l’export, les e-commerçants français doivent investir significativement afin de devenir une référence sur les marchés ciblés:
– Développer une marque forte sur le web (SEM, réseaux sociaux, marketing de contenu)
– Localisation des contenus dans les différentes langues des pays ciblés
– Adapter le marketing mix au marché local (prix , produit, promotion, place, comme par exemple développer les stratégies cross canal).
– Adapter le service au pays ciblé (monnaie locale, moyens de paiement, logistique).
